Students may take graduate courses at
Towson University without pursuing a
formal degree. A non-degree classification
allows students to take courses while
awaiting admission to a graduate degree
program, or to complete classes for personal,
professional or academic reasons.
Students who wish to move into a degree
program can transfer up to 12 units (4
courses) of graduate work from non-degree
status with approval of a program director.
Some departments do not allow non-degree
seeking students to take courses due
to class size and class priority for
degree-seeking students. Check with the
program director for more information.
Non-degree seeking students are not
eligible for financial aid. Students
must submit immunization paperwork to
Dowell Health Center to be eligible for
registration.
Admission Requirements
Non-degree students must submit the
graduate application and application
fee, and an official transcript verifying
their conferred degree within the first
semester of coursework.
