Why Earn a Certificate in Management and Leadership Development?

Towson University's Management and Leadership Development Certificate is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to handle advanced leadership roles in your organization and manage people and teams more effectively in the workplace. This program will assist you in developing your executive and managerial abilities so that you will understand how to work with others in an organization to embrace change and create a learning environment through employee empowerment and motivation, teamwork, information sharing, work design, and effective organizational structure and design. The program is open to students from both business and non-business related fields such as education, communications, science, engineering and the medical professions.

Learning that Works

The design of the program allows you to gain knowledge and insight into the areas of human resources, management and organizational development. You will learn team building, communications management, organizational behavior, organizational design, and development and change through case studies, experiential small group activities, and self-assessments. Many students integrate their certificate course work into other graduate programs, including Towson's master's programs in human resource development and in professional studies.

Taking the Flexible Approach

Designed for the full-time working professional, the program offers a wide variety of late afternoon, evening and summer classes. Part-time students can complete course work at their own pace. The program usually takes one to two years to complete.
