Application Deadline

Rolling admission for applicants is based on program needs. Full consideration is given to complete applications received by May 1st for fall and November 1st for spring admissions for domestic students.

Deadline for international applicants: 10/1 for spring, 4/15 for fall

Admission Requirements

You must hold a master’s degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a closely related field.  

Those students who do not hold a master’s degree may choose to apply to Towson University’s master degree programs in either Computer Science or Applied Information Technology to complete the necessary requirements. Upon completion of your master’s degree, you can apply for admission to the doctoral program. 

Send the following admission materials to the Graduate School Office, Towson University, 8000 York Road, Towson, MD 21252:

  • Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation preferably from academic institutions. (Hard copies or online recommendations are accepted - hard copies must attach the personal assessment form.)
  • Statement letter indicating your educational, professional objectives and research interests
  • Resume
  • TOEFL Scores (For International Students Only)
  • Optional Test Scores (GRE - in analytic, quantitative, and verbal).
