Science Education (M.S.) - Chemistry

Gain Advanced Knowledge and Training in Your Content Area

The Master of Science (M.S.) in science education is designed for high school biology or chemistry teachers seeking to meet and surpass the standards set by the No Child Left Behind Act. Through course work, independent study and research projects, you will enhance your teaching skills and gain comprehensive knowledge in your content area. With an emphasis on best practices in science education, the program prepares you to apply instructional technology and implement state and national standards of science teaching into the classroom. The program also prepares graduates for national board certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).

A Flexible Format

The M.S. program is designed for the full-time educator and part-time student, offering convenient late afternoon, evening and summer classes. Through a wide variety of elective course work, you can pursue your interests and develop your professional skills. You also can take advantage of the many research opportunities available and gain additional credit.
