Lauren Shiflet came to Towson
University for the Social Sciences Graduate Program
after completing her degree at Frostburg State
University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in
History, French and Cultural Anthropology. Lauren
enrolled in the Global Analysis track with a focus in
History in Fall 2010. She entered the Social Science
program to prepare for a PhD in History through its
multi-faceted masters curriculum. During the summer of
2011, she travelled to Les Archives Nationales
d'Outre-mer in Aix-en-Provence France as part of an
independent research project to study primary source
French colonial documents in conjunction with Towson's
study abroad program and the Institute for American
Universities in Aix.
